Sana Jarrar’s artistry revolves around a careful arrangement of materials, often presented on canvas or in installations, where both the presence and the absence of different elements point to something that stretches beyond the works. Her degree project, Terra Nullius, presents an exploration of the material’s narrative ability amongst blackened landscapes of charcoal on canvas.

I try to experiment and reimagine the concept of home in these installations using cardboard and sound. I often install unedited recordings as sound pieces within installations, in which a montage takes place between the physical environment, its architectural/material characteristics, and the position of the listening body.
