The concept of ‘home’ becomes fluid when you have moved many times. You collect a library of addresses that were once temporarily your home, where you settled down at the end of the day. Imagine if you could physically take your personal street with you through life and the memories that accompany it. Once you had the key to enter. Now you are left outside with only inner images of what went on at those addresses.
My master’s degree project comprises two components. One is an illustrated authentic diary from 2012. The other is embroidered reflections on the time that has passed, seen through my present eyes. Which one actually does this time the most justice?
From 2007 to 2022, I lived in Berlin. Its urban environment has shaped the background of the experiences that take place during this time.
