Anti-Age
Emma Samuelsson

Something that was previously unattainable, yet desirable to us, was to be able to tell the future. Today, through measurements, we can foresee our destiny on this planet. We live under the burden of those calculations.

As our awareness of the climate crisis has become urgent, it seems we need to start digging in our backyard. The world needs to be scaled down to what already exists. But the everyday is inherently boring to us. Somehow, we need to find a way to re-see the things inhabiting the ordinary and see if they can become mystical to us again.

Beyond the lifespan of objects, time is also an abstract vision of something beyond us– it alters our perception of importance. In my work I use our relation to time as a tool. Is it possible to bend the way we perceive the physical world around us?
