Jamie Gilroy Barrett’s practice investigates hidden forms of connection in relation to place: the tacit, the incomplete, the transient, the imaginary, the subconscious, the esoteric and the invisible. Gilroy Barrett examines conscious pause and rupture as a means of excavating the hidden dimensions of place. His work seeks to challenges the conventional idea of progress in relation to the built environment, endeavouring to reorientate one’s relationship with their surroundings and perhaps one’s place within it.
