My work is rooted in celebrating chaos and diversity. It can be seen as a critique of societal structures that do not fit neurodivergent and non-normative bodies.
My work aims to explore the potential of glass to reflect and communicate deep emotions. The objects I create can be read as portraits: partly as psychological beings; partly as fleshy organs, membranes and nerves. The creation of the objects provides an opportunity to reflect on the relationship between individuals, materials, and societal norms through artistic expression via glassblowing and the welding of recycled aluminium.
Chance plays a role in the process, in fostering an honest relationship in dialogue between myself and the material. With the creative process stemming from my own conditions, I can mirror myself in the created objects and promote personal growth and self-understanding. Reflecting upon and contemplating my own creations deepens my understanding of myself and my artistic practice.
