A project about ADHD in the workspace environment.
To find balance between work and rest, and the sensory experience on our nervous system have been key elements throughout this project.
This project stems from a significantly large research and workshop phase. How do you design for a diagnosis everybody have their own relationship to?
There are recommendations to make it easier to live with this diagnosis, like sleep 8h, have regular routines, eat, exercise, etc, which all sounds like pretty basic stuff, but this becomes even more important for people with ADHD and to find balance between them is a struggle.
This table is a tangible manifestation of inclusive design and a physical aid to finding a balance in work and rest.
A table you can activate and de-activate through opening and closing the tabletop and higher or lower the table legs depending on your need, creating a ritual in actively setting up your space to rest or work.
With this table I want to showcase that aesthetics can contribute to function through the impact it has on our wellbeing through the sensory experience.
