Public spaces under construction are often overlooked, seen merely as zones of transition. Yet, there’s an inherent beauty in these evolving landscapes. They embody the promise of transformation, a testament to our collective aspiration for progress and improvement. The rawness of these spaces, with their exposed and hidden structures, offers a unique aesthetic that is both authentic and captivating. They provide a glimpse into the intricate process of creation, making us appreciate the journey towards the final product.
I believe these spaces, despite their transitory nature, can be explored and utilised in their current state. Temporary installations, pop-up events, or urban interventions can activate these spaces, fostering community engagement and interaction. In my degree project, I aim to embrace the beauty of transformation and explore the potential of these spaces under construction.
