Jorid Ljungberg
en gestaltning mellan skog och betong för att påminna individen om naturens betydelse

There is a longing within me. A longing for a place with lots of memories that have left an imprint on who I am. This place is the little village of Ragvaldstjärn, which is located deep in the forests of Värmland. There, surrounded by the tall fir trees and soft moss, I feel safe and secure. A place that I will always carry with me.
Today, I live among high-rise buildings and concrete, which is a clear contrast to this secure tranquility. It has made me realise how our surroundings shape our lives.
In my work, I depict my memories to recreate the feeling of my childhood forest in the hustle and bustle of the city. I want to explore the design language of Ragvaldstjärn, the texture of the bark and the shifting shades of light to design a space in which the observer can understand and identify with my longing.
