What if I don’t get along with school management or my colleagues? Will my first years as a teacher determine whether I want to continue working as one? Where will I get a job? Will I be a good teacher? With my education behind me, will I be able to work anywhere else than in the schools? I have a great understanding that, just like other workplaces, it doesn’t go so quickly to improve something that’s chafing, but what would make me no longer want to work in the profession I’ve dreamed of studying to be?
This study aims to highlight the individual’s thoughts on how dreams and expectations about the teaching profession can lead one to never start, or to stop.
As part of this degree project, I, Andrea Langendorf, Moa Ishizaki and Felicia Faller have planned a visual arts education symposium in order to broaden the discussion on the artistic and educational fields.
