The Sports Footwear Industry produces over 20 billion shoes every year for a global population of 8 billion citizens. Do we really need such a high quantity?

Skateboarding is one of the best examples of a sport that uses fast-wearing shoes. In fact skaters buy 4-7 pairs of shoes every year in order to skate. Modern footwear is designed to be disposable and unrepairable.

Elixir is a step towards a revolution in the industry.
It’s the introduction of a more responsible approach to performance equipment designed with the aim of changing the mindset of buyers, sellers and producers.

The aim of my degree project is to create an ongoing collaboration with Stockholm’s skateboarding community, which includes skateparks, skate shops and skaters of all genders.
