Creating a good dining table involves fulfilling a need, ensuring versatility in multiple homes, and an understanding of the product. Today, it is crucial to create lasting and thoughtful furniture, but how can my design promote sustainability and aesthetic value? How do we justify creating new items when we already have plenty? My goal is to elevate the relationship between people and their dining tables, emphasising usage and aesthetics. I focus on young people in smaller homes, aiming to design a table that balances functionality, sustainability, quality, and aesthetics. Through considered material and construction choices, I advocate for smaller, high-quality dining tables, influenced by a Swedish classic.
