Amina Seid Tahir
Amina Seid Tahir (She/Her) is a Swedish-Eritrean artist and choreographer. She works with imagination as a speculative tool for Black resistance and repair where dreams work like seeds to grow universes. She braids together her interests in ancestral knowledge with oral traditions and myths to create worlds between reality and fiction. In Seeds of Slumber these interests intersect through themes rooted in sleep and the lack thereof within the Afro-Nordic community.
Taking shape through the vibrations of the sleeping orchestra where Chladni plates become dream portals, rocking spells and sonic manifestations.
Seid Tahir’s work is rooted in community and would not be possible without the conversations or collaborations with her communities, including people as: Aditi Jaganathan, Adam Seid Tahir, Nora Seid Tahir, Dina Said, Ailin Mirlashari, Rebecca Beyene, Lina Alarabi, Sara Rad, and many many more.
